Ramon Reed Biography

A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Reed began acting at the age of five in community plays with Porch Productions, Inc and through his school and church. In 2015, his starring role as Donkey in a North Carolina Children’s Theater summer camp production of “Shrek Jr.” sparked a more serious desire and love for acting. In 2017, he decided to give acting a real shot and auditioned for Disney’s “The Lion King” musical. He landed the role as Young Simba and toured with their North American Rafiki Company. He performed in 13 cities for 10 months and appeared in four out of eight shows each week. While on tour, Reed was asked to join the award-winning musical on Broadway, where he performed as Young Simba for three more months before he landed his series regular role on “Just Roll With It.”

Ramon Reed starred as Owen Blatt, in Disney Channel’s “Just Roll With It” for the two seasons the show aired. Reed has also guest starred on Fox 9-1-1 Lone Star, Nickelodeon’s That Girl Lay Lay, ABC’s The Goldbergs and you can catch him in the Netflix featured film 13: The Musical. Coming soon, you can continue to enjoy his work in the highly anticipated new high school comedy “INCOMING.” 

When Reed is not on stage or in front of a camera, he can be found recording episodes of his podcast “A Rare Moment with Ramon Reed,” entertaining his followers on Instagram, singing, making others laugh or stock trading. He also loves spending time with his family and friends, whether he is at home or exploring the city.

Reed is a Sickle Cell Anemia warrior and is an advocate for those who live with the disease. Determined not to let his condition define him, Reed wants to inspire others to continue to pursue their dreams – no matter what life throws their way.

Reed currently resides in Los Angeles with his family.
